TeleRehab revolution

It all begins with an idea.

It all began with a shift. A sudden shift in the way we all do work due to COVID-19. As workers we have all had to make major adjustments to how we do business, how we engage with others and how we go about our lives. The trend towards TeleHealth has been on a steady growth for 5-6 years now in Canada. With most practitioners being reluctant to switch from their traditional models of healthcare and physiotherapy. We pride ourselves as working with our hands through manual therapy, functional dry needling, acupuncture, manipulations among many hands on techniques. Thankfully we are adaptive and thankfully technology has advanced so far in those 5-6 years that we are able to easily find ourselves online scrambling to figure our how to market ourselves in a digital socially distanced world. For most of us we rely heavily on our brands, referral sources, medical clinics and practitioners to provide us with a steady flow of patients. This week I find myself wondering if i need to download Tik-Tok. The transition is a painful yet an incredibly useful step we have all had to take into the unknown. Most practitioners have been scrambling to figure out where they are able to make enough money to sustain. Whether to jump into the awkward, laggy, zoombombing world of telerehab or to go cold turkey and apply for CERB. Thankfully we have an incredible resources in PABC and CPA lobbying on our behalf for the ability to work part time through TeleRehab / Telehealth services while receiving a top up to the CERB amount of $2000 a month. I am incredibly grateful for our community of physiotherapists around the country trying to figure it all out. Yours in health,
